Green Waste Disposal Fee

Green SOLUTIONS WIDE BAY IS CHANGING

After four years of providing free green waste disposal services to the community, Green Solutions Wide Bay will introduce a Green Waste Disposal Fee starting 22/05/2025. This new fee structure is essential to help cover the increasing operational and maintenance costs of running the facility and to ensure the service remains sustainable for the long term.

Our Vehicle Classification System

To streamline the process, our system will automatically classify your vehicle upon entry using number plate recognition. This will ensure accurate classification and the correct fee applies.

Vehicle classification categories are:

  • DOMESTIC
Light vehicles and trailers disposing of green waste unrelated to commercial activity
Applies to residential users who are disposing of green waste generated from their own household, such as from personal gardens or yards. The green waste must not be related to any business or landscaping service.
  • COMMERCIAL
Vehicles disposing of green waste related to commercial activity
This applies to businesses or individuals who are disposing of green waste as part of a business operation (e.g., landscaping, property management,). Green waste disposal occurring more frequently than once every 10 days on average over the past 3 months will also be considered a commercial activity. This includes vehicles used for business purposes, but not rigid tipping or combination trucks.
  • RIGID TIPPING TRUCKS
Any truck or vehicle with an automatic tipping system
This applies to trucks or vehicles that are equipped with an automatic tipping system (such as a hydraulic mechanism to unload the waste), regardless of whether it’s a personal or commercial vehicle.
  • COMBINATION TRUCKS
Heavy combination vehicles, including truck-and-trailers and side-tippers
This applies to heavy-duty vehicles like truck-and-trailer combinations or side-tipper trucks, typically used for transporting large quantities of green waste material.

    What Is Considered Green Waste?

Green waste includes organic materials such as lawn clippings, tree branches, leaves, and other plant-based waste. Please note that green waste excludes any non-organic materials such as plastics, metals, or household garbage. For a full list of accepted items, please refer to our Terms and Conditions
